1、Acid dyes
Acid dyes are a class of water-soluble dyes with structural acidic groups that dye in acidic media. Most acid dyes contain sodium sulfonate, which is soluble in water, with bright colors and complete chromatograms. Acid dyes have a complete chromatogram, bright colors, light fastness and wet processing fastness vary greatly depending on the type of dye. Compared with direct dyes, acid dyes have a simple structure and lack long common double bonds and isohedral structure, so they lack directness to cellulose fibers and cannot be used for dyeing cellulose fibers. Different types of acid dyes have different dyeing properties due to their different molecular structures, and the dyeing methods used are different.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing wool, silk and nylon, as well as leather, paper, ink and so on. Usually, no coloring power is applied to cellulose fibers. 2. Basic dyes
Basic dyes are also known as salt-based dyes. Dyes that produce cationic dyes can be dissociated and classified in aqueous solution. It is characterized by bright color, strong fluorescence (mainly rose, yellow, orange, etc.), strong coloring power, low dosage of dyes, and rich color. It has poor color fastness and lightfastness, but it has good firmness to acrylic fibers (polyacrylonitrile fibers). Basic dyes do not color cellulose fibers.
Uses:It is seldom used for dyeing fabrics due to poor color fastness and colorfastness after dyeing fibers with basic dyes. It is mainly used for coloring and manufacturing of stationery and paper.
